Lore:  
Nedd the ogre was captured by the Hellbourne when their war with the legion overran his home. The Hellbourne used their demonic magic to alter Nedd, fusing him with powerful weapons, and lobotomizing him to ensure complete obedience. Now little remains of the peaceful ogre he once was. He's an abomination, a living weapon, a tightly-reined destructive force: He is Gauntlet.

The demonic force powering Gauntlet's massive glove grows unstable. If Gauntlet hits anything in the next couple of seconds, some of the demonic power inside it will detonate, damaging and knocking back all nearby enemies.

Cooldown & 50% of the mana cost is refunded if he does not hit an enemy.

Radius: 250
Mana Cost: 80/90/100/110
Cooldown: 11 seconds
On use, applies Infernal Instability to self for 4 seconds and gives max charges to Enfeeble.

While Infernal Instability is active, Gauntlet's hand will detonate on the first target that he attacks.

Upon detonation, deals 120/180/260/320 Magic Damage in the radius, pushing back units near the hit target.

Gauntlet's fires his chain-mounted glove. If the glove catches an enemy hero, both Gauntlet and his foe will be dragged to the targeted location.

Fires Gauntlet's Glove 800/900/1000/1100 distance in target point's direction. Upon impacting any ally or enemy hero, Gauntlet and the impacted hero are pulled toward the target location.

If an enemy hero is hit, they take 100/140/180/220 Magic Damage and are stunned for 1/1.2/1.4/1.6 second(s).

Notes
  • The glove travels a fixed distance away, and the position you select is where you and a grabbed target is moved to.
  • If you select a position less than 75 units away from Gauntlet, it will simply pull the grabbed target to Gauntlet.
  • The glove travels at 1600 speed and has a touch radius of 80.
  • Unlike Devourer's Guttling Hook, it does not grab non-hero units.
  • Does not grab anything on its way back.
  • The glove provides 600 day and night clearvision around it.
  • Both Gauntlet and the target are moved to the target location at 1500 speed. The grabbed target is moved to target position first, then Gauntlet will be moved there.
  • If Grapple is blocked via Spell Block (i.e. Moraxus Arcane Shield.jpg Arcane Shield or Drunken Master Untouchable.jpg Untouchable), only Gauntlet is moved to the target position.
  • Does not grab units with Consumed by Power from Gauntlet Blast applied.
  • You will also learn a sub-version of Grapple that fires the glove forward and pulls the target to the front of Gauntlet.

Passive
Gauntlet unleashes an incredible pummeling on his opponent, crippling them severely and stealing their damage.
Gains one charge for every 0.8/0.6/0.4/0.2 seconds that pass without Gauntlet attacking. Maximum of 25/30/35/40 charges.

On Attack
Applies Enfeeble to attack target for 4 seconds, applying all of the ability's charges to the target, resetting charges back to 0 if the target was a hero.

Max possible slow is 35%.

Applies Empowered to self for 4 seconds, gaining all stolen damage.

Notes
  • Stolen damage takes in account of Base Damage and Damage buffs at the time of application.
  • Each charge of Enfeeble and Empowered (self and enemy) has its own duration.
  • Damage is stolen in increments of 3 as charges. Charges gained is equal to (Damage * Charges) * 0.01 / 3, rounded to the nearest integer. Damage is calculated from the average of minimum and maximum damage range, rounded up.
  • Damage gained or reduced is capped at 126 charges, or 378 Damage.
  • Charges are restored to full over 16/15/12/7 seconds.

Type - Physical
Fueled by malevolent power, Gauntlet's glove rockets at a target unit, purging, stunning, and damaging them when it hits. Any enemy units the glove passes near on its way to the target are consumed by Demonic Power, taken out of the fight for a short time.
Range: 600
Mana Cost: 100/150/200
Cooldown: 80/70/60 (70/60/50) seconds
Shoots the glove out at the target unit and fires yourself at it.

Any enemies within 200/225/250 (300/350/400) units of the glove as it flies have Consumed by Power applied to them for 4 seconds.

When the glove strikes the target, they take 300/400/500 (400/500/600) Magic Damage; all buffs are purged only from the main target. The target is stunned and revealed for 1.5 seconds.

Can be activated again to detach early from the flying fist.

Great for hard to reach places!

  • With a Staff of the Master.jpg Staff of the Master, Gauntlet is invulnerable while traveling. Detaching will remove the invulnerability.

Mana Cost: 70/85/100/115
Applies Infernal Instability to self for 4 seconds.

While Infernal Instability is active, Gauntlet's hand will detonate on the first target that it comes in contact with. This includes auto attacks, Grapple, or Gauntlet Blast. This ability can be activated while the glove is in mid flight.

Upon detonation, deals 33/66/99/132 Magic Damage per charge in a radius around hand. Gains one charge every 4 seconds, with a maximum of 3 charges.

Gauntlet Blast (Pre-1.0.5)

Type - Physical
Fueled by malevolent power, Gauntlet's glove rockets to a target location. The nearest enemy hero is struck by the glove and engulfed in demonic power. On its flight back to Gauntlet, the might glove pushes aside anyone foolish enough to impede its path.
Range: 600/700/800
Mana Cost: 100/150/200
Cooldown: 65/55/45 seconds
Shoots the glove out in a straight line toward target location.

Upon reaching that location, the glove strikes out at the nearest enemy hero, dealing 200/350/400 True damage and purging any buffs. The target hero is slowed by 100% initially, which decreases to 0% over 3 seconds.

After striking at the enemy hero, the glove flies back to Gauntlet, pushing aside any units it hits and dealing 100/150/200 True damage to them.

Great for hard to reach places!

  • The glove travels at 900 speed.
  • Provides 600 day and night clearvision around the glove while in flight.

Gauntlet's fires his chain-mounted glove. If the glove catches an enemy both Gauntlet and his foe will be dragged toward each other.
Range: 600
Mana Cost: 150
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Shoots the glove first to the point clicked and then 600 units into the target direction. When an enemy is grabbed, deals 60/100/140/180 Physical damage and ministuns.

If an enemy is grabbed before the target point, just pulls him back to Gauntlet. If an enemy is grabbed after the target point (the "turn"), then both Gauntlet and the target are pulled to that spot.

Grapple can be used while the glove is flying, changing its direction and grabbing someone in the process.

  • The glove has a touch type of Physical, so it will pass through Physical Immune units, and does not trigger Infernal Instability if applicable.
  • Gauntlet Blast also applies a tapering 80% Movement Slow for 10 seconds.
  • Gauntlet can attack even while he has no glove in his hand.


Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Gauntlet is based on the Strength Hero contest winner, Mechanome by NinjaPants. Gauntlet was heavily reworked from the original concept, however.
  • Gauntlet is one of two Dev Heroes ever released, the other being Balphagore.
