Attack Modifiers was a class of modifiers that grant special effects to your autoattacks, but only one can be used at a time. They can be used with Exclusive Modifiers that also affect your attacks, such as Mana Combustion.

As of Version 4.1.0, Attack Modifiers no longer exist.

Orb Walking[ | ]

Orb Walking is a laning technique involving attack abilities (meaning only Arachna and Vindicator can do this currently). Named after "orb effects" from DotA ("Orb" referring to Attack Modifiers since many of the effects derived from Orb items from Warcraft 3, despite currently no attack abilities in HoN count as an Attack Modifier), orb walking allows you to harass an enemy hero with your autoattack without drawing lane creep aggro.

Typically, when attacking an enemy hero with an autoattack, enemy creeps within 500 units of you will attack you. However, this behavior does not apply to abilities. Since attack abilities are technically abilities, enemy creeps will ignore you if you use an attack ability to attack an enemy hero.

However, this technique does not work if you toggle auto-cast and attack normally. You must attack the hero by manual casting in order for orb walking to work.

When utilized properly, orb walking gives you an edge during laning as it allows harassing for a very low Mana cost while minimizing the damage you take from creeps.
