Lifesteal causes the user's attacks to heal themselves. Abilities that deal Physical Damage (except Attack Abilities) are not affected by Lifesteal. Various items and abilities provide lifesteal.
The amount of health healed by lifesteal is proportional to post-mitigation damage.
Multiple sources of lifesteal can be stacked additively, except for the Attack Modifier lifesteal sources.

These abilities heal the user on attack, but are not considered lifesteal, as they gain health based on a factor besides damage dealt.

Magic Damage Lifesteal heals the user by a percentage based on how much Magic Damage they dealt. Mixed Damage benefits from Magic Damage Lifesteal, but not True Damage.
