Mana
Mana is used to cast most active abilities. All units that use Mana in some way have a maximum amount of Mana they can have at one (Max Mana) and cannot use an ability if they do not meet the Mana Cost. Mana can be restored via Mana Regeneration (measured in Mana gained/second) or certain Mana restorers.
Heroes gain 13 Max Mana per each point of Intelligence.

Mana Regeneration[edit | edit source]
All heroes have a base Mana Regeneration of +0.01 Mana/sec. Each point of Intelligence increases a Hero's base Mana Regeneration by 0.04. Some non-hero units that have Mana may or may not have a base Mana Regeneration.
Mana Regeneration can be increased by items and abilities that grant either percentage Mana Regeneration or flat Mana Regeneration. Percentage Mana Regeneration increases your base Mana Regen by that percentage. Flat Mana Regeneration granted is not multiplied by percentage Mana Regeneration.
Formula: Total Mana Regeneration = (Base Mana Regeneration + 0.04*Intelligence ) * ( % Mana Regeneration ) + ( flat Mana Regeneration )

Mana Reduction[edit | edit source]
Moira's
Mana Sunder reduces Mana Regeneration by 100% while the target is regaining Mana. It also reduces the target's Max Mana by 90% for the first 1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds, which is regained over 0.9 seconds afterwards. If the target spends Mana while restoring Mana and has more than 1500 Max Mana, its Max Mana is reduced by 90% for 1 second, regaining it instantly afterwards.

Mana steal[edit | edit source]
These abilities drain Mana from the target and gives the user Mana equal to the amount of Mana drained. This means that if the target has less Mana than the amount it can drain, then it will give the user as much Mana as the target has.
