Stealth causes the unit to go invisible, causing them to not appear on the opponent's screen or minimap. Stealth does not work if the unit becomes Revealed.
Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Stealthed units cannot be targeted directly, since the opponent cannot select the invisible unit in the first place. They will still take damage from attacks that are target an area. Some abilities do not target invisible units despite being an area of effect attack, mainly abilities that seek visible targets, such as Torturer's Agonizing Bonds, or chaining abilities such as Chain Lightning from a Thunderclaw.
Most forms of Stealth are broken on attack or when using an ability or item. Stealth is broken after the initial attack or cast startup, which means canceling your ability will not break Stealth and you can cast abilities with particularly long cast times without revealing yourself before the ability activates. A few sources of Stealth allows the user to cast abilities without breaking it, but will still cause other sources of Stealth to break under normal conditions.
Stealth effects also have a Fade Time, the delay before a unit goes completely invisible. During Fade Time, the unit can still be partially seen and can be targeted like normal.
Wards have a special type of Stealth that requires a more specialized source to reveal.
In addition, Stealth can be used as a pseudo-disjoint if a unit completely fades into Stealth and is not being Revealed on impact. Most Stealth effects also provide a Movement Speed bonus and Unitwalking. Stealth status effects also cannot be removed or transferred, but they can be removed by abilities that morph the target.

Gadgets[edit | edit source]
- Ward of Sight and Ward of Revelation are both permanently stealthed.
- Scout's Electric Eyes are permanently stealthed, but is revealed if an enemy units is within 200 units of it.
- Monarch's Noxious Nightcrawlers (in Ward form) are permanently stealthed. However, unlike other wards, it uses a Hero-type stealth.
- Couriers are invisible to enemies, unless the enemy also has vision of its owner.
Revealed[edit | edit source]
Revealed negates the effects of Stealth. All Towers Reveal enemies within its attack range, as well as the Well/Tarpit. Some items and abilities also Reveal. Wards have a different Stealth type, making it immune to some Reveal effects.
