Accursed Fire Shield.jpg

Shields absorbs some or all damage taken by the affected unit and redirects it to itself. It has a limit to how much damage it can absorb before it is removed. Shields also have a limited lifetime as well.

Shields absorb either pre-mitigated (before Armor and/or Magic Armor reductions are calculated) or post-mitigated damage. Some shields also only absorb damage of certain types. Some shield also grant additional effects as it persists or when it takes damage.
