The War Effort
The War Effort is a feature introduced to Heroes of Newerth on Version 3.6.2. The War Effort is a quest system that gives players various tasks to complete, rewarding players for completing tasks or playing the game.
As of March 22, 2016, the War Effort system has been suspended indefinitely.
Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Players can check their War Effort progress by clicking the tab part of the chat screen.
Players can have up to two active quests at a time. Once a quest is completed, another quest will be made available. Players can reroll one quest per day by clicking the button on the quest card.
Each reward requires building progress towards it. When completing a game in any Matchmaking mode, you gain 20% progress to your current reward, and completing a quest adds 25% additional progress. Once a player reaches 100% progress, they can claim their current reward by clicking it.
Once a reward is claimed, the player can build progress towards their next reward, provided it is made available. Progress will roll over to the next reward unless you no longer have pending rewards. A new reward is made available every day, and players can have up to 5 pending rewards at a time. A total of 14 rewards are available per cycle.
Completing a quest increases a player's rank on the leaderboard. Players may finish quests even if there are no pending rewards. At the end of each cycle, the top players on the leaderboard will receive exclusive rewards.
